Funeral services for Phyllis Ann Donovan are scheduled for 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will host a family visitation from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home. 

Phyllis Ann Donovan was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Copan, Okla., to Ewing H. and Nellie O (Warren) Huston. She passed this life on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at her home in Ardmore, surrounded by her family. 

She and James Oxford were married Nov. 24, 1955, in Ardmore and he preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1966. She and Brig. General George Donovan were married on March 8, 1973, in Denton, Texas. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2004. 

Phyllis was a member of the graduating class of 1955, at Ardmore High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a CASA Volunteer and served on their board of directors and was a board member of the Military Museum of the Greater Southwest Historical Museum. She was also a member of the Military Officers Association. When her boys were young and playing little league, she was a volunteer and ran the YMCA Concession stand at the Y ballfields. She was a member of a lady’s social club called Bide-a-Wee.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy and her husband, Charles, of Davis; her two sons, Mike Oxford and his wife, Karan, of Ardmore, and Brent Oxford and his wife, Stella, of Ardmore; two stepdaughters, Lynn Riley and her husband, Tom, of Ardmore, and Donna Frazier and her husband, Felix, of Sulphur; sister Patty Hendershott and her husband, Carroll, of Ardmore; grandchildren, Audra Oxford, Mereidith Blalock, Scott Drennan, Brent James Oxford, Jarrod Buchholz and Leslie Lee; Stepgrandchildren, Angie Donovan, T.J. Riley, Amy Jones, Allison Caron, Will Riley, Matt Landerith; and 20 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by, parents; first husband and father of her children, James Oxford; husband, George Donovan; infant son, Bradley Donovan; and sister, Sue Bacon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Drennan, Bobby J. Womack, Brent James Oxford, Jarod Buchholtz, Matthew Landerith, T.J. Riley, Will Riley, Jared Weir and Randy Hendershott. Honorary bearer will be Robert Phillips.
