He grew up in a small home filled with siblings, as he was surrounded by Donald Lee, Larry, Glenda, Gilda, Ozella, and Jacquelyn. Art Smith was affectionately known as “Bones” to his family and friends and was a great man full of life, jokes, and tall tales.
Arthel Smith departed this earthly life on Feb. 10, 2018 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Downey, CA. Preceding him in death was his first wife Faye, his mother Carmene Knight, his father Arthur “Bo” Smith, and sister Cora Lee Brown.

He was a devoted family man and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and brother. He leaves to cherish his wife June Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., daughter Angela Smith-Parham (Scott) of Atlanta, Georgia and great granddaughter Jada Parham, grandsons Spencer Parham, Brandon Wright, and James Anthony Parham of Atlanta, Georgia.
