Linda Sue (Brown) Williams passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in McKinney, Texas on March 2, 2018. She was 71-years old.
Linda was born in Durant, Oklahoma on the 18th of December, 1947 to her parents, Owen and Lara Mae Brown. She was a graduate of Durant High School, and she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In 1967, Linda married the love of her life, Coach Chuck Williams.
They spent 35 precious years together, and in that time, they blessed hundreds of young people with their love of coaching. Linda also spent her time teaching children how to play the piano as music was one of her lifelong loves. She never met a stranger, and her love of Jesus and people was evident to anyone who met her.
Linda, also known more affectionately to her family and close friends as Mimi, was a wonderful mother to Bart and Emily, and her three granddaughters, Haiden Emily, Hadley Drew, and Nova Mae held her heart. When not working as an apartment leasing agent, she enjoyed watching her oldest granddaughters play basketball and enjoyed having Mimi time with her youngest granddaughter.
Linda is survived by her son and daughter-in- law, Bart and Alison Williams and two granddaughters, Haiden and Hadley Williams, all of Pottsboro, Texas. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in- law, Emily and Shawn Kelley and one granddaughter, Nova Mae Kelley, all of Plano, Texas; her sister-in- law, Cindy Baker of Ardmore, Okla., and her nephew, Brian Baker of Wilson, Okla. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chuck Williams, her parents, Owen and Lara Mae Brown, her nephew, Jason Baker, her father-in- law, Jack Williams, and mother-in- law, Betty Williams.
Pallbearers will be Coach Ronnie Tipps, Coach Milton Cooper, Coach Roger Byrd, Coach Drew Young, Coach Ronnie Young, and Kent Bowles.
The funeral service for Miss Linda will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 5 at First Baptist Church in Ardmore, Okla., and interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 8701 Leeds Rd. Kansas City, MO 64129.
