Ardmore Police are currently investigating another attempted burglary after the victim was alleged struck in the face with the perpetrator’s pistol.
Late Wednesday, an Ardmore resident and her son were in bed when the mother heard a noise in the back of the house, said Ardmore Police Department’s Capt. Keith Ingle. Apparently she had forgotten to lock the door and was surprised to find an armed man standing in her laundry room. She described him as a young male wearing a red shirt and carrying a handgun, Ingle said.
The scene unfolded in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue NE. Officer Billy Eades was dispatched to the scene just after 1 a.m. The victim told him there was a physical altercation between herself and the alleged burglar, during which she was hit in the face with his handgun. She suffered no serious injuries and did not require medical treatment.
The victim told officers she was able to push the suspect out of the house and lock the door, according to the officer’s report. Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. The investigation is currently still on-going.
