Registration slots are still open for the sixth annual Color Me Crazy 5K and 1 mile run.
Every year, participants in the race are showered with different colors of pigment as they run. The race is slated for 9 a.m. March 31 at Regional Park in Ardmore. HFV Wilson Community Center Executive Director Jacob Lohse said the race is an important fundraiser for the center.
“It’s one of the largest events we have all year,” Lohse said. “This helps fund our after school programs, summer camps and scholarships for all of those programs.”
Programs offered at the center range from dance and karate classes to sports and programs during school breaks.
Walk-in teams and single registration will end at 7 p.m. on March 16 and online team and single registration will end Sunday at 10 p.m. March 18. Registration is available online at or at HFV Wilson Community Center.
Registration for one costs $20 for the mile and $30 for the 5K. Teams cost between $22 and $10 per person depending on the number of participants. The more people per team, the less registration costs. Children 4 and younger can attend for free, but T-shirts will still cost $10.
