Wanda Dean Rutledge, 86, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, in Ardmore. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore. 

Dean was born on May 12, 1931, in Hennepin, Okla., to Luther Franklin Foster and Helen May (Haynes) Foster. She attended Hennepin Schools and married Edward Rutledge on Dec. 23, 1948, at Gainesville, Texas. The couple settled in Ardmore. 

Dean worked at Humpty Dumpty from the day it opened until the day it closed. For over 20 years she was the checker and office manager. After it closed, she went to work as a cashier for Walmart and became a supervisor in charge of demos. Dean retired in 2003. 

She was an avid bowler and was on many leagues traveling throughout the United States for tournaments. She competed in New York, Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma, but spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought Dean the most joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Rutledge; daughter, Rita Robins; granddaughter, Brandi Harris; and six siblings: Gwendolyn Wallace, Madeline Wells, Murline Pierce, Kenneth Foster, Keith Foster and Sidney Hal Foster.

Dean is survived by daughter, Judy Salley, of Ardmore; three grandchildren: Barney Beavers and wife, Liz, of Marietta, Luke Beavers of Marietta and Eddie Hill of Ardmore; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Daniel D. Foster and wife, Clara, of Eaton, Colo.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest of Ardmore.
