Services for Randall K. Keller of Rubottom, Okla., are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Freeman Auditorium of Turner School, Burneyville, Okla. Officiating will be Lawrence Anderson assisted by Mike Buxton. Interment in the Rubottom Cemetery will follow under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, Okla.
Born January 17, 1952 in the Eastman Community of Love County, Randy was the son of Rhul Wesley Keller and Mable Beatrice Turner Keller. He passed away Monday, April 23, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 66.
A resident of Love County all of his life, Randy attended Turner Schools for 11 years, graduated from Marietta High School and then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, for three years. He and Debra Kay Blankenship were married on June 10, 1972 at Eastman. In addition to being a rancher, raising hay and cattle, Randy worked as a paramedic at the Love County Health Center for 14 years beginning in the late 1970s. He was also an employee and retiree of Love County District #1 and District #2, working as a gravel truck driver. Randy loved music and played with several bands, including Desperadoes, Country Illusion, and Whiskey River. He and his bands provided entertainment at the Love County Frontier Days Association and the street dance for many years. Since the early 1970s he had played at numerous community fish fries and barn dances and was also the house band at Red River Ranch for many years. Randy also enjoyed fishing on Red River, watching the Texas Rangers, and making bbq and sauces and sharing them with relatives and friends. Most of all he loved visiting with people and being happy. Randy also enjoyed his pet Chihuahuas. Of the Baptist faith, Randy was baptized at the Eastman Baptist Church in 1961.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Richard Wesley “Dick” Keller and Rhul Keller, Jr; and sister, Quetha Jo Gonzales.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Keller of the home; three daughters, Lisa Ramon and Karla Smith and husband Ronnie of Rubottom, and Sherry Sanchez and husband Ernesto of Jacksonville, North Carolina; brother, Jimmy Keller and wife Jean of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Betty Rackley and husband Buford of Eastman; six grandchildren, Aaron Ramon, Tyler Smith, Brayden Ramon, Hunter Smith, Jersie Ramon, and Brianne Sanchez; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as casket bearers will be Devon Reed, David Howard, Johnny Reed, Tony Hodges, Ray Willingham, Dale Lyons, Ron Westfall, and Jay Clark. Honorary bearers are other musicians with whom he played.
