After 32 years of working in the oil fields in Texas, Okla., New Mexico and Louisiana, Robert retired back to Lone Grove in 1990.

He purchased land west of Lone Grove and soon began a cow-calf operation. This is what he always dreamed of doing.

Robert loved all kinds of fishing. From cat fishing in the Washita River to Red Snapper fishing at Port Mansfield, Texas, and many lakes in between.

Robert loved the Lord and was involved in church ministry. He served as a deacon and various other positions while living out in Texas and Louisiana.

Robert was a family man who enjoyed his four children, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with family, spending time working on his land and keeping up with old friends.
