Cross Timbers Hospice held their annual salad luncheon today at the Colvert Ministry Center.
This year the event raised approximately $3,000 with around 350 guests said Brandi Townley, who works in quality assistance for Cross Timbers Hospice.
The funds raised benefit patients who turn to the nonprofit for care, of whom approximately a quarter are veterans, Townley said.
“Our patients never see a bill,” Townley said.
The funds raised help assist the nonprofit in providing needed services for patients, however the need for volunteers and additional funding is still present. Those who wish to volunteer should go directly to the Cross Timbers office and speak with the volunteer coordinator, Shelly Murray. Murray coordinates volunteer training and can answer questions potential volunteers may have.
Townley said upcoming events and opportunities to serve are posted on the groups Facebook at If you missed the luncheon but still want to donate, Cross Timbers does accept donations via PayPal at
