The Ardmore Police Department arrested a Healdton man on multiple charges early Friday morning.
At about 3:22 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to 900 block of Burch NW, in reference to a disturbance in progress. After investigation, officers found that Anthony Todd Barnes, 45, of Healdton, had arrived at a residence where his estranged wife had been living.
Todd was placed under arrest for the district felony charges of burglary in the first degree, attempted kidnapping, and domestic assault and battery.
Dispatch advised the officer that the male subject had kicked in the back door and was attempting to drag an adult female outside.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject and a female subject standing in the front yard involved in an active disturbance. The male had a shovel in his hand, according to the officers’ reports.
Evidence at the scene showed that Barnes forcefully entered the home and physically forced his wife out of the house, according to the officers’ reports. Officers also found that Barnes made threatening statements to others at the house and his wife while attempting to get her to leave with him.
