Partners in Education is hosting a college fair Monday at the Ardmore Convention Center.
The fair will focus on financial aid and scholarship information, with presentations and workshops at 5:30-6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Representatives from several colleges and technical schools will be present, as well as representatives with scholarship opportunities like the More Scholarship.
PIE Director Cynthia Pickens said Kirk Rushing from the University Center of Southern Oklahoma’s Equal Opportunity Center will be on hand to discuss funding and deadlines.
“We are trying to help anybody thinking about going to college or going back to college,” Pickens said.
Pickens said those considering a career change, parents, and others in the community interested in more information from area schools are encouraged to attend.
Rushing said the event will run from 5 to 8 p.m., but it is set up for people to come and go as they are able.
“Don’t worry about getting there right at 5,” Rushing said. “We will have information and people there to answer questions.”
Pickens said PIE has other similar events on the horizon with CareerTech and with the Chickasaw Nation. Groups of students will be invited to participate in career aptitude testing and hear from speakers on various subjects related to career development and higher education.
