With the final stretch of their season coming up this week, the Sulphur Lady Bulldogs decided to prepare the best way they know how: with a pair of victories.

Friday afternoon the Lady Bulldogs were at Firelake Casino in Shawnee, where they grabbed two victories at the Dale Festival over Morris and Tecumseh, moving them to 26-5 overall and extending their recent winning streak to 16 games.

Sulphur is back in action Monday afternoon against Lone Grove where a victory would earn them a share of the district title. 

The Lady Bulldogs will then finish district play against Pauls Valley on the road on Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m.

Game one of the festival was a relatively comfortable outing for the Lady Bulldogs, as they earned a shutout victory over Morris.

Sulphur scored all of its runs in the top of the third inning, with Macenzie Ruth getting the Lady Bulldogs on the board first with an RBI single to center.

Ally Dixon then doubled the advantage with an RBI single to left, before Makella Mobly and Ruth both scored on an error to end the inning. 

Harley Beesley got the win on the mound, throwing six innings of work. She allowed just three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Despite dealing with a slim 2-1 lead in the third inning, the Lady Bulldogs were able to pull away from Tecumseh in game two with a five run sixth inning performance. 

Sulphur scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the third, before Tecumseh cut the lead to 2-1.

A run by the Lady Bulldogs in the top of the fourth gave them breathing room at 3-1, before the game was finished off with five runs in the top of the sixth. 

Kady Lynch and Abby Beck both had two RBI’s in the game with Lynch going 2-for-4 at the plate, and Beck finishing 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Macenzie Ruth, Ally Dixon, Kinlee Duck, and Meredith Jones all had one RBI in the contest. 

Blakelyn Barber got the win on the mound for Sulphur, throwing six innings. She allowed one earned run on four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.
