Madill — Betty Jean Miller, 92, of Madill, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at the Family Care Center in Kingston.
She was born on June 17, 1926, in Grantham, Marshall County, to the late L.L. (Bill) Sparlin and Kathryn Nichols Sparlin. Betty married J.B. Birdsall on Sept. 20, 1943. He preceded her in death as did their two children, Michael D. and Karen Kay Birdsall.
On Feb. 9, 1981, Betty married R.B. (Ben) Miller, a retired Army veteran. The two formed their own vending business and worked for 12 years, retiring permanently in 2006. Ben passed away Aug. 25, 2011. They were married for 30 years.
Betty lived most of her life in Marshall County working as a secretary. She enjoyed working with people, quilting, cooking and teaching her S.S. classes.
She is survived by a son, Bennett D. Miller, Madill; step-daughter, Caroline Miller, Monroe, Ark.; grandchild, Steven Wilkes Birdsall; six great-grandchildren; half-brother, Joe Sparlin, Ardmore.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, J.B. and Ben; two children, Michael and Karen; a grandchild, Shuna Kozak.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 pm. today and Wednesday at Watts Funeral Home in Madill.
Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.
