Memorial services for James “JD” Braxton, 17, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Brother Raymond Norton officiating.
JD was born on July 13, 2001 in Ardmore, and passed away on Oct. 9, 2018. 
An Ardmore resident all of his life, JD was a senior at Dickson High School and was attending the welding program at SOTC. He loved to play basketball, go noodling with his Uncle Daniel, swim, and hang out with his friends. He was very attentive to his long curly hair that he loved to twirl.  JD was adventurous and loved to do anything exhilarating.  He had a charismatic personality that matched his contagious smile. JD lived and was cared for by his Nana Patsy Hawkins.
JD leaves to cherish his memories: grandmother, Patsy Hawkins; sister, Shaudey Gunsolus, Kamie Braxton and Destini Rouveire; Great aunts and great uncles, Cindy Bryson and husband Melvin, and Sherry Gibson and husband William;  Uncles and aunts, Daniel and Angela John, Brandon and Jennifer James, aunt Ashley Chance. Niece, Hadley Manning; special cousins, Laycie, Kelsie, Lyndsie and Mason John, Bentley and Dusty James, Brooklynn and Skylar Chance; extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.  Preceded in death by his father: James Gunsolus; Uncle, Dustin Chance; Cousin, Robby Ritter; Grandparents; Rev. Billy and Wanda Smith and best friends Evan King and Van Hicks.
