Ardmore Police Department Det. Cpl. J. Johnson has requested the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in an alleged theft at a local hotel.
The incident was first reported on Friday, according to the officers’ reports. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where the reporting party said he left his room at 5:30 p.m. the previous evening for work. When he returned, he said his belongings had been dumped out and several items were stolen, including a pistol, iPad and a bluetooth speaker. The pistol, described as a black and nickel plated Star Megastar .45 ACP handgun, was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) FBI database.
The alleged victim’s roommate also reported items missing, including a PlayStation controller and headset. The total loss is estimated at $1,200.
According to Johnson’s report, hotel surveillance footage showed several subjects from a room next to the alleged victim notice that the alleged victim’s hotel door was not completely closed then the entering the room. The footage then showed the subjects leaving the room while carrying items believed to belong to the victims.
Four subjects have been identified, said Johnson. APD investigators are seeking information about an unidentified subject captured on surveillance video. Johnson said the subject appears to be a 15 to 25-year-old, white or Hispanic male with what appears to be a teardrop tattoo below his left eye. The subject left the scene carrying items taken in the alleged burglary in the victim’s own backpack.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of this subject or having knowledge of the burglary itself should contact Det. Cpl. J. Johnson at the Ardmore Police Department or by calling (580) 223-1212.
