“God has called his greatest gift back home.” Nowana Jean Sparks, 84, of Marietta, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, in Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City. No services are scheduled at this time.
The daughter of Samuel Tony and Geraldine Ray Bodiford, Nowana was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Simpson. She had been a resident of Marietta most of her life and was employed for more than 20 years as a retail clerk for Chickasaw Enterprises at the Smoke Shops in Ardmore and Thackerville. Nowana married Ralph G. Sparks in Glen Rose, Texas on Jan. 25, 1975, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1994. Her hobbies included reading and shopping. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randal Jarman Stowers; and two sisters, Jerry Ann Price and Joyce France.
Survivors include two sons, Rick J. Stowers and wife Wynne, of Madill, and Ronnie J. Stowers; daughter, Rebecca J. Stowers, of the home; brother, William C. Bodiford and wife Sharon, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
