Walter Lynn Airington, of Springer, was born Feb. 6, 1955, in Duncan, to George Walter and Imogean (Welch) Airington. He died Thursday, July 19, 2018, in Ardmore, at the age of 63. Walter and the former Ms. Barbara Lynne Scifres were married on Oct. 10, 1975, in Ringling.
Walter loved God, family, friends and Bluegrass music. He was very fond of his dogs Izzy and Penny. He always enjoyed peanut butter cookies.  Walter had the ability to make people laugh and fix anything. He was known to be one of the best flat top pickers in the area.
Though his death has brought many tears, the prayer of the family is that from this day forward, as stories are shared in his memory, may the smiles replace and outnumber the tears.
Walter’s desire was to be remembered by family and friends by coming together to share stories, smiles and Bluegrass music, which he so dearly loved. Whether you met him once or knew him for many years, you have a story to share about Walter Airington.
Therefore, in his memory, a memorial service consisting of lots of shared memories and Bluegrass music will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the Murray County Antique Tractor Club, located seven miles north of Sulphur on Hwy 177 and east on Tractor Club Road.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home, Davis.
