Mickey Don Rowell, 79, of Duncan, passed away Tuesday Oct. 30, 2018, in Oklahoma City, just 5 short days of his 80th birthday.
A Graveside Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 3, 2018, at Duncan Municipal Cemetery with his nephew, Rev. Billy Rowell officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday Nov. 2, 2018.
Mickey was born Nov. 4, 1938, in Comanche, to Ethyl (Ledford) and Cecil Boyd Rowell. He graduated from Comanche High School, Comanche. He married the love of his life, June Jennings, on Feb. 3, 1961, in Duncan.
Mickey spent his entire working career at one company, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, where he was promoted to Western Division Manager of Equipment and Materials.
He was an avid fan of Oklahoma University Football and was a season ticket holder for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing, cooking, fishing, hunting and traveling. His favorite vacation spot was Ruidoso, N.M. Most of all, Mickey enjoyed the time spent with his family. He loved cooking holiday meals with his daughter and was well known for his special oyster dressing.
Survivors include his wife, June Rowell, of the home; a son, Rickey Don Rowell and wife Jami, of Duncan and a daughter, Vicki Dee Ross and husband Barry, of Ardmore; a brother, Bill Rowell, of Comanche; five grandchildren: Brandi Cockrell and husband KC, Cody Don Rowell and wife Alyssa, Ross Rowell, Casy Rowell and wife Jayden and Skylar Ross; four great-grandchildren plus one on the way; and other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethyl and Cecil Rowell.
Honorary Pallbearers are Grandchildren and Golfing Buddies.
