Joan Baum Billings was born in Knox City, Texas, on July 15, 1936, to James and Bessie Mae Webb. She grew up the youngest of 12 children in Rule, Texas. She was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents and 10 siblings. Joan went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at the age of 82 years young. Though out her life, Joan was a homemaker, business woman, realtor, and mother.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 24 years, Don Billings, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; her sister, Mary Pyland, of Abilene, Texas; her children, Rhonda Carter, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., John (Linda) Baum, of Coleman, Texas, Jim (Kelly) Baum, of Lockney, Texas and Jeff (Kelly) Baum, of Lubbock, Texas; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Her family would like to thank all of her friends and special caregivers for their kindness during her time of need. Special thanks to the caring staff of Dierksen Hospice.
A graveside celebration was held in Rule Cemetery, Rule, Texas. Local arrangements were entrusted to Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services.
