After months of waiting, the Southern Oklahoma Wrestling Club has wasted no time in hitting the mats running during the 2018-19 season.

After months of waiting, the Southern Oklahoma Wrestling Club has wasted no time in hitting the mats running during the 2018-19 season.

In week one of the campaign at the Team Worx tournament in Altus Carson Dove and Blaze Burch managed to claim second and third overall in their respective brackets.

During week two, the club wrestlers made their way to the Monster Mayhem Takedown tournament which was held in Southmoore.

Kate Oxley, Blaze Burch, Carson Dove, Karson Rice, Hayden Sims, and Beckett Digby were among the wrestlers who finished first at Southmoore.

Jeven Jessen, Casen Sims, Mayer Mansfield and Austin Jones claimed second in Southmoore. 

Langston Fetty claimed third at Southmoore while Asher Digby finished fourth and Marshal Mansfield earned fifth in his respective bracket. 

Week three in Blanchard brought success for boys wrestlers and girls wrestlers as well representing the SOWC.

Among the advanced wrestlers placing in Blanchard were Blaze Burch (1st), Colton Bailey (1st), Kase Oxley (3rd), Carson Dove (3rd), Caiden Sherfield (3rd), and Asher Digby (4th).

There were also several beginner wrestlers who placed at Blanchard including Austin Jones and Marshal Mansfield who both earned first.

Mayer Mansfield, Briar Williamson, Isaiah Troops, and Beckett Digby all earned second at Blanchard.

Casen Sims finished third while Bintlee Burch claimed fourth overall.

Bintlee Burch also placed first in the girls division, along with Adyson Lewis. Kaelyn Rice finished second in the girls division.

The club will continue wrestling throughout the remainder of 2018 and into the 2019 calendar year with events across the state.
