Memorial services for Gene Scrugham, Jr. will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Gene was born Aug. 31. 1947, in Ardmore to Gene Scrugham, Sr. and Eva (Zidzick) Scrugham. He passed from this life on Nov. 10, 2018, in Ardmore at the age of 71.  He and Carol Vanway were married on Apr. 14, 1967, in Ardmore.
Gene was the owner of Ray’s Hallmark Gifts and Office Supply store in Ardmore for many years, and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Elk’s Lodge, Masons, and Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ray and Blanche Scrugham and his parents Gene, Sr. and Eva Scrugham.
Gene is survived by his wife Carol of the home; daughter Gena Nalley and husband Patrick, of Corinth, Texas; sons Richard Scrugham and wife Erika of Celina, Texas, Chris Scrugham and Tammy Key, of Ardmore; brother Lonnie Scrugham of Florida; mother-in-law: Rosie Vanway, of Ardmore; brothers-in-law: Mike Vanway, Jim Vanway and his wife Marcella; grandchildren Matthew Hodges, Wesley Hodges, Johnathon Hodges, Joshua Hodges, Blake Scrugham, Kelsey Scrugham, Mikaylan Downing, Reace Downing, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends  and his best buddy “Tucker.”
