Gary Lee Brown, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, in Ardmore. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in The Chapel at Griffin ~Hillcrest Funeral Home with The Reverend Vincent Baptiste officiating. Interment to follow in McAlister Cemetery.
Gary was born at Talihina, on Apr. 15, 1946, to Morgan Brown and Amelia Shoemaker. He attended school at Ravia. The family moved to Ardmore and he attended Ardmore High School where he played baseball and basketball. Gary graduated with the Class of 1964. He worked most all of his life as a self-employed handy man. Gary was the type of person who could do almost anything he set out to do. He loved to watch sports and would attend any Oklahoma University game he could. He liked going to garage sales and going fishing, but his true passion was playing golf. Gary had faith in his Lord and attended the Southern Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his giving heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan Brown and Amelia Shoemaker Campus, brother, Joe Brown, and sisters: Jean Stapleton and Linda Dean.  
Gary is survived by his sister, Betty Baptiste, brothers: Arnold Lewis and Charley Lewis, all of Ardmore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Carnes Porter, James Ingram, Joe Ben Pruitt, David Ruth and Tony Stewart.
