Raymond Dean Sheehy, 82, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at the local hospital in Ardmore. Born to the late James Donald Sheehy and Marie Elizabeth (Biederman) Sheehy, on Feb. 10, 1936,  at Rolfe, Iowa, Ray had lived here since 1959.  
Ray and the former Anna Belle Shelton were married Sept. 3, 1959, at Ardmore and were the parents of two sons, Brian Scott and James Dean.  They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
A veteran of the U. S. Air Force, Ray had retired from the O. G. & E., after 20 years, as a shop foreman. Of Baptist faith, he enjoyed gardening and working on his farm equipment.
Ray is survived by his wife, Anna Belle Sheehy of the home; two sons and their wives, Scott and Holly Sheehy and Dean and Teri Sheehy, of Ardmore; two sisters, Edine Hoes, of Florida and Sharon Prince, of Iowa; also four grandchildren, Lauren, Rayven, Brandon and Matthew Sheehy. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by brothers, Donald, John and Maurice, sisters, Rosemary Poffenberger and Janice Grimes and a granddaughter, Brookelynn Sheehy.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Robert D. Lee.  
Burial, with Military Honors provided by the U. S. Air Force, will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the assistance of David Sheehy, John Sheehy, Billy Carter, Jackie Carter, Greg McLaughlin and Gerald McLemore serving as pallbearers.
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be Sunday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
