Ardmore native, Terry Van Cummings, 61, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, in a Dallas hospital following a brief illness.  
The son of Don V. Cummings and Gayle (Bennett) Cummings, Terry was born Nov. 10, 1957, at Ardmore. He grew up here and was a graduate of Ardmore High School, the class of 1976 and also from the University of Oklahoma.
Terry had lived in Los Angeles for a time and was a thirty year resident of Dallas, where he was a self-employed floral designer. Terry was also a volunteer and board member of Legacy Counseling in Dallas.
Survivors include his mother, Gayle Cummings and brother, Gary Cummings and his wife, Sherry of Ardmore; an aunt, Judy McBay, Tulsa, uncle, Tommy Craighead of Ardmore; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Moore and husband, Chris, Cara Hawkins, and husband, Melvin, Brett Price and wife, Kinzie, Garrett Cummings, along with many cousins, great nieces and nephews; also his dear friend, Roslyn Haile and special friends, Dr. Ed and Rona Goodman.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Don Cummings, aunt, Billie Joy Craighead, uncle, Homer McBay and nephew, Robert Haile.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Reverend David Daniel, pastor of First United Methodist Church.  
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with the assistance of Tommy D. Craighead, Mel Van Craighead, Steve Martin, Brett Price, Chris Moore and Garrett Cummings serving as pallbearers.
