The Home Going celebration for Lawrence Ray McGee Jr., 36, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2018 at the Jehovah Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy Brown officiating.  Interment will follow at Jehovah Cemetery.
The son of Lawrence Ray Sr. and Sharon Pickens McGee, he was born Dec. 10, 1981 here in Ardmore and went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 30, 2018 at a local hospital.
He graduated from Ardmore High School in 2000 and attended Langston University for two years. He had worked for Flanders and also had a yard service. He was member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and loved to go fishing.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his parents, Lawrence Ray McGee Sr., and Sharon McGee, daughters, Ayreanna McGee, Peyton Craft, and Baylen McGee; his sister Tiffany Newberry and his brothers, Shrodric McGee and Mario Dawkins; grandparents, Edgar and Portia Godwin, and a special niece Aareon Walker, special nephew Aaron Newberry as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Nevaeh Tynisha McGee, and grandparents, Erriah Godwin, Clint Douglass, Helen McGee and Floyd McGee Sr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Pickens, Carmalle McGee, Mario Haines, Josh McGee, Evan McGee, Jaron Godwin, Domanique Godwin, Atelo Ford, Jervernon Clemens, Justin Davis, Jamie Salas and Phil Smith.  Honorary bearers will be Earl C. Shannon, Arvell Pickens, Mark Pickens, Samuel Pickens, Floyd McGee Jr., Charles McGee, James McGee, Ronnie Godwin, Delky Godwin and Willie Van Godwin.
