The Indians eclipsed the 50-point mark for the third time this season as they claimed a 67-50 victory over Chickasha in the opening round of the Southern Oklahoma Classic at the Plainview Activity Center.

Plainview will be back in action tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals of the tournament.

Chickasha came out strong in the first quarter as the Fighting Chicks held a 16-14 lead going into the second.

However, the Indians fought back and outscored Chickasha 12-9 before halftime to lead 26-25 going into the locker room.

Plainview gave itself some breathing room in the third quarter with a 19-10 run, before finishing the game off in the fourth quarter with a 22-point frame, which saw the Indians hold the Fighting Chicks to just 15 points down the stretch.

Devin Jones led the Indians with 21 points in the game, with Taylon Chambers scoring 13 points. 

Blake Nowell added nine points, with Cason Dillon scoring seven points.

Tyler Berryhill added four points for Plainview in the win.

The Indians moved to 3-0 on the season.
