It was a mixed bag of results for the Turner Basketball teams to end the Bullet Energy Comet Classic tournament in Velma-Alma this weekend.

The Turner Falcons managed to grab a victory over Rush Springs in the Consolation semifinals, before falling against Walters in the Consolation Championship game Saturday afternoon.

Against the Redskins on Friday, the Falcons were down 13-6 after the first quarter but managed to come back with a 13-9 second quarter to cut the deficit to 22-19 going into the break.

Turner managed to outscored the Redskins 19-6 in the second half, including holding Rush Springs to zero points in the fourth quarter.

Justice Hartman led the Falcons with 13 points followed by Tyler Campbell with seven points and Luke O’Dell with six points. 

Against the Blue Devils on Saturday, the Falcons struggled out of the gate only scoring six points in the first quarter as they were down 12-6.

Walters kept up the momentum before halftime, outscoring Turner 14-12.

Another 14-point quarter in the third kept the Blue Devils in the lead as Turner was outscored in the fourth 11-8. 

Justice Hartman led the Falcons with 24 points against Walters.

As for the Lady Falcons, they unfortunately suffered their second loss of the tournament Friday with a 50-38 defeat against Waurika.

Waurika outscored Turner 18-13 in the first quarter, before the Lady Eagles went on a 14-5 run to end the first half.

Both teams scored six points in the third quarter before the Lady Falcons outscored Waurika 14-12 in the fourth quarter.

Miranda Crespo led the Lady Falcons with 11 points in the game followed by Kodi Durst with seven points.

The seventh place game of the tournament was scheduled to take place Saturday, but it was canceled. 

Turner will be back in action Monday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. against the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur.
