This past weekend wasn’t kind to either the Plainview Indians or the Dickson Comets, who endured rough finishes at their respective tournaments.

However, Tuesday night brought a chance to get some new found momentum for both teams as they met up at the Plainview Activity Center.

Ultimately, it was the Indians who found their offensive groove as they moved to 4-1 on the season with a comfortable 74-40 victory over the Comets.

Plainview showed no signs of rust after having their weekend cut short at the Southern Oklahoma Classic due to weather, as the Indians scored 22 points in the first quarter, while holding Dickson to just five.

Both teams scored 19 points before halftime, but it was Plainview who held the 41-24 advantage.

Dickson’s offensive struggles came back to haunt them again in the third as the Comets managed just six points, while Plainview raced ahead with 22 of its own.

The Indians finished the game off in the fourth with an 11-10 run.

Cason Dillon led the Indians with 13 points in the game followed by Blake Nowell and Taylon Chambers with 11 points each, with Tyler Berryhill adding 10 points.

Charles Wright led the Comets with 13 points followed by Cory Lee with 11 points.

Plainview will host Comanche Friday night, while Dickson will travel to Kingston.
