When it came to last weekend, the Dickson Lady Comets and Plainview Lady Indians couldn’t have had more opposite scenarios.

Plainview finished the Southern Oklahoma Classic with a two-game losing streak, while the Dickson Lady Comets finished the Madill Winter Classic on a two-game winning streak.

However, the Lady Indians were in no mood for a three-peat of losses Tuesday night.

A balanced scoring attack allowed Plainview to snap its brief run of defeats, as the Lady Indians claimed a 74-58 victory over the Dickson Lady Comets at the Plainview Activity Center.

In the first quarter, both teams came out strong offensively as they combined for 34 points.

Plainview held a 19-15 advantage, before a 24-10 run in the second quarter gave the Lady Indians a commanding 43-25 lead going into the locker room.

Dickson managed to keep things close in the third only being outscored 15-14, but it was Plainview who maintained the lead.

Despite being outscored 19-16 in the fourth quarter, the Lady Indians were able to hang on for the victory.

Anna Simmons led the Lady Indians with 18 points, followed by Megan Winchester with 14 points and Amiya Howard with 13 points.

Landri McClure led the Lady Comets with 14 points followed by Hailey Davis with 13 points.

Plainview (4-2) will host Comanche Friday night beginning at 6:30, while Dickson (3-4) is at Kingston Friday night.
