Services are entrusted to the care of Kirk Funeral Home to celebrate the life of Travis Leslie Wright, Jr., age 60, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at Jehovah Baptist Church in the Milo Community. His cousins, the Rev. Alonzo Anderson, and the Rev. Ricky McGee will officiate the Celebration. The Interment will follow in Jehovah Cemetery in Milo.
Travis Leslie Wright, Jr. was born Aug. 2, 1958, in Milo. He was the son of Leslie Travis Wright, Sr. and Earney McGee Wright. Travis was a 1978 graduate of Graham High School. After graduation, Travis served in the U.S Military and was stationed at Ft. Jackson in South Carolina. After completing this assignment, Travis was employed at Dr. Woods Veterinarian Clinic in Lone Grove. Additionally, he was a concrete employee. At a young age, Travis united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding horses, attending rodeos and traveling. Travis lived in several states, which include Florida, North and South Carolina, Arizona and New York.
He lived life his way and loved spending time with family and friends. Each of his nieces and nephews were his favorite. There was never a dull moment when in the presence of Travis. He was lots of laughs and always a good time!
God called him to eternal rest Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, from Whispering Oaks Nursing Home in Ardmore.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Riva Ann Wright, Gwendolyn Wright, Essie Lee Wright, and Ella Louise Wright.
He leaves precious memories to his son, Travis Leslie Jerry Wright, III; his son’s mother, Minister Sugar B. Wright; a granddaughter, Shaniah Michelle Larcenia Wright;  three brothers, Leroy Wright, Larry Wright, Sr., Chucky Wright, Sr.; four sisters, Jessie Faye Lee, Jennifer (Royce) Humdy, Fronia Wright, Tammy Wright; 46 nieces and nephews; 112 great-nieces and nephews; 46 great-great-nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Bearers of the bier are Dontey Wright, Michael Humdy, Javon Humdy, Dayeon Wright, Jimmy Wright and Roy Wright. Viewal will begin in Kirk Funeral Home Chapel, Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
