Just three days after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Durant Lions at home, the Ardmore Tigers were hit with an offensive barrage Friday night against McAlester.

Just three days after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Durant Lions at home, the Ardmore Tigers were hit with an offensive barrage Friday night against McAlester.

The Buffaloes managed to drain 12 three-point shots throughout the game, leading to a 75-57 defeat at the Ardmore High School Gymnasium.

Ardmore held its own in the first quarter, leading 9-4 at the 3:47 mark, before taking a 15-8 advantage into the second quarter.

Midway through the second quarter though, things started to go sour for the Tigers.

McAlester managed to grab an 18-17 advantage at the 4:47 mark, before regaining the lead again at 21-19 with 4:12 left before halftime.

Despite Ardmore taking the lead twice in the second quarter, the latter coming at the 3:38 mark at 22-21, the Tigers couldn’t stop the Buffaloes offensive onslaught. 

At the 1:09 mark before halftime, McAlester grabbed a 28-26 lead and finished off the first half on a 7-3 run to hold a 35-29 advantage going into halftime. 

Things didn’t get better following the break for the Tigers.

Ardmore managed to get to within three points at 35-32 just over a minute into the third quarter, but the Buffaloes caught fire from behind the arc, growing their advantage to 44-34 just over a minute later.

At the end of the third quarter it was McAlester leading 56-45.

The closest the Tigers got to the Buffaloes in the fourth quarter was nine points at 56-47, before McAlester finished off the game with a 19-10 run.

T.J. Hamilton led Ardmore with 14 points in the game followed by Dante Roberts and Mylic Ritche each with 10 points. 

Ardmore will be back in action at 8 p.m. Thursday night taking on the Byng Pirates at the Ardmore High School Gymnasium.
