A favorable weekend came to an end on Saturday for the Davis basketball teams, as they finished up play at the Big 8 Conference tournament in Wynnewood.

A favorable weekend came to an end on Saturday for the Davis basketball teams, as they finished up play at the Big 8 Conference tournament in Wynnewood.

The Lady Wolves managed to claim the Consolation Championship, while the Wolves fell in the championship game.

Davis is at home this evening taking on Madill beginning at 6:30 p.m.

After being on a two-game losing streak at the beginning of the tournament, the Lady Wolves managed to end the tournament Saturday with a winning streak.

Davis earned a comfortable victory over the Wynnewood JV team, moving them to 4-3 on the season and giving the Lady Wolves their second straight victory.

The Lady Wolves opened the game with a 15-5 first quarter, before taking a 33-14 lead into the halftime break.

Despite managing just five points in the third quarter, the Lady Wolves held a 38-20 advantage.

Davis finished the game off with a 13-8 fourth quarter run.

Jolee Grinstead led the Lady Wolves with 13 points in the game.

Despite earning their first victories of the season at the tournament, the Davis Wolves couldn’t complete a trifecta in the championship, falling against Community Christian.

CCS opened the game with a 22-10 run, before scoring 21 points in the second to lead 42-27 at the break.

Davis managed to score 17 points in the third quarter, but CCS was too much offensively, scoring 20 points of its own.

A 22-point fourth quarter by CCS finished off the victory, leaving Davis at 2-5 for the season.

Devon Gregg led the Wolves with 17 points followed by Cole Martin with 14 points.
