LONE GROVE — Just four days after breaking their long losing streak to start the season, the Lone Grove Longhorns were hoping to start a winning streak at the Gary Scott Center.

Unfortunately the Comanche Indians combined with cold shooting proved to be a recipe for disaster as the Longhorns were defeated 48-24, dropping them to 1-7 on the season.

Lone Grove struggled out of the gates, failing to score in the first quarter as the Indians grabbed a 6-0 lead going to the second.

While the Longhorns managed to get on the board before halftime, the Indians did so as well to the tune of 15 points, leading to a 21-4 advantage at the break.

After the interval, the Longhorns seemed to get a rhythm going, outscoring the Indians 10-6 in the third.

But Comanche responded in the fourth, outscoring Lone Grove 21-10 to finish off the game.

Gavin Peery led the Longhorns with 11 points in the game.
