Ardmore police arrested a local woman early Sunday morning after being tipped off that the women’s two children, between the ages of 1-6, were left unattended in their home for more than two hours.
According to Capt. Keith Ingle, Officer Jared Buckaloo responded to the home shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday morning where he was unable to make contact with anyone in the home. The officer was able to call the mother who allegedly refused to return to the home to allow the officer to make a premises check. Ingle said the father of one of the children was contacted. The father came to the home and was able to make contact with the children.
According to Ingle, the father of the child was at work at the time and was unaware that the children were left unattended. Ingle said the children have been placed in Department of Human Services custody. According to reports, the mother was charged with three counts of felony child neglect-abandonment.
