After enduring a rough start to the 2018-19 season, the Ardmore Tigers were hoping to end the year on a high note Saturday morning in the final game of the Chickasaw Nation Holiday Classic tournament.

Unfortunately, the Putnam City Pirates didn’t get that memo as they handed the Tigers a tough 79-39 defeat at the Ardmore High School Gymnasium.

Putnam City led 19-3 at the end of the first quarter, before out scoring the Tigers 19-13 before the halftime break.

Ardmore struggled in the second half as the Tigers managed just four points in the third quarter while the Pirates ran wild with 28 of their own to extend their advantage over the Tigers.

Ardmore did manage to finish the game on a high note, outscoring the Pirates 19-13 in the fourth quarter.

Mylic Ritche led the Tigers with 10 points in the game.

Ardmore will be back in action on Jan. 8 when the Tigers travel to play against the Durant Lions on the road.
