For the Ardmore Lady Tigers along with the Sulphur Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs, the results were definitely worth cheering about.

Both Ardmore and Sulphur’s girls teams cemented their places in the top-10 of Class 5A and Class 3A, as both teams earned high numbers in the final poll of 2018.

Sulphur’s boys meanwhile returned to the top-20 for the first time in a couple of weeks. 

Ardmore landed its highest ranking of the regular season thus far at the No. 2 spot, earning seven first place votes in the process, which is also a season-high.

Ardmore is currently 9-0 on the season, and is fresh off a victory over No. 6 Lawton Eisenhower in the finals of the Chickasaw Nation Holiday Festival over the weekend.

As for the Sulphur Lady Bulldogs, they finished 2018 with their highest ranking of the season since the first poll of the year at No. 8 in Class 3A.

Sulphur is currently one of two undefeated teams in the top-20 at 7-0 along with Jones., who is currently ranked No. 5.

The Sulphur boys team also made its return to the top-20 in Class 3A after a multiple week abscence.

The Bulldogs landed at No. 19 this week, with an overall record of 6-1.

Ardmore is back in action Jan. 8 at Durant while Sulphur takes on Comanche Friday night on the road.
