During the course of the season, the No. 6 Sulphur Lady Bulldogs have faced more than their fair share of adversity.

However, Saturday afternoon in the finals of the 49th annual Heart of Oklahoma the odds combined with the Anadarko Lady Warriors proved to be too much.

A slow first half start ultimately doomed the Lady Bulldogs, who suffered their first loss of the season with a 46-35 defeat.

Anadarko jumped out to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter, before taking a commanding 33-14 lead into the halftime break.

However, the Lady Bulldogs came back strong in the third quarter, outscoring Anadarko 11-8 to cut the deficit to 41-25.

Despite outscoring the Lady Warriors in the fourth quarter 10-5, the rally wasn’t enough.

Payton Row led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points followed by Makella Mobly with 10 points.

Sulphur (17-1) will be back at home Tuesday night against Madill at 6:30 p.m.
