In their final road contest of the regular season Friday night against McAlester, the Ardmore basketball teams were looking to gain some momentum heading into the final week of the season.

In their final road contest of the regular season Friday night against McAlester, the Ardmore basketball teams were looking to gain some momentum heading into the final week of the season.

Unfortunately, it was a split decision as the No. 1 Lady Tigers won their 19th game of the year, while the Tigers suffered a second defeat to the Buffaloes.

In the boys contest, the Tigers were defeated 58-53, dropping them to 3-18 on the season.

No statistical information was available from the contest as of press time.

As for the Lady Tigers, they were able to move to 19-1 on the year and win their third straight game with a 43-36 victory over the Lady Buffs.

Ardmore found itself down 9-8 after the first quarter, before the Lady Tigers went on an 18-4 run to end the first half and lead 26-13 going to the break.

However, the Lady Buffs responded with a 15-9 third quarter run to close to within eight points at 36-28 going to the fourth.

Both teams scored eight points in the fourth, ensuring the Lady Tigers the victory.

Sierra Gordon scored 17 points to lead Ardmore, with Reagan McCurley scoring eight points.

Maya McGee and Amaya Gordon each scored six points for Ardmore. 

Ardmore is back at home Tuesday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. taking on Carl Albert.
