Facing a ranked opponent for a district championship is never an easy task.

Facing a ranked opponent for a district championship is never an easy task.

However, it was one the Turner Falcons and Ringling Blue Devils were more than ready to take on Saturday night.

Things didn't go so well for the Blue Devils unfortunately, as they were defeated by No. 1 Ft Cobb-Broxton 88-46 at Ft. Cobb.

Despite the loss, the Blue Devils had already earned a place in the regional tournament, which will begin on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Ft. Cobb-Broxton when the Blue Devils will take on Fletcher in the Regional Consolation bracket.

A victory would see them either play Vici or Binger-Oney Friday night at 8 p.m.

As for the Turner Falcons, they were handed the tough task of taking on the undefeated and No. 9 ranked Velma-Alma Comets Saturday night.

Unfortunately, the Falcons became another notch on the belt for the Comets, as V-A moved to 23-0 for the season with a 62-31 victory.

Turner found itself down 35-14 at the half, before being held to just 17 points in the second half.

Devin Davis and Tyler Campbell led the Falcons with seven points apiece in the game.

Turner will play on in the playoffs though in the Regional Consolation bracket, which will begin on Thursday at 3 p.m. against Waurika at Velma-Alma.

A victory for the Falcons would see them play either Cyril or Maysville at 8 p.m. Friday night at Central High in Marlow.
