DICKSON — Following a grueling week of games last week, the No. 17 Plainview Lady Indians made sure they ended their regular season the right way.

DICKSON — Following a grueling week of games last week, the No. 17 Plainview Lady Indians made sure they ended their regular season the right way.

With a victory.

The Lady Indians and first-year coach Chad Walker won their 17th game of the season Tuesday night with a 55-39 victory over the Dickson Lady Comets on Senior Night at the Dickson Gymnasium. 

Plainview grabbed the lead early in the game and never let it go as the Lady Indians jumped out to a quick 16-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Another 16-point quarter to end the first half kept the Lady Indians well out in front as the Lady Comets could only manage eight points before halftime, finding themselves down 32-14.

Both teams scored seven points apiece in the third quarter, before Dickson outscored Plainview 18-16 in the fourth quarter.

Anna Simmons led the Lady Indians with 15 points in the game followed by Megan Winchester with 10 points. 

Regan Chaney added nine for Plainview with Riley Grant scoring eight points. 

Sienna Young led the Lady Comets with 23 points on the night with Audrey Young adding eight points.

Both of these teams will begin their respective playoff journeys Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

Plainview will host McCloud in a Class 4A district championship game, while Dickson will play at No. 4 Kingston in a Class 3A district championship game.
