There’s no better time to break a losing streak than in the playoffs.

For the Sulphur Bulldogs, that’s exactly what they did Saturday night in the district finals.

Three players scored in double figures as the Bulldogs snapped a seven-game losing streak with a narrow 73-69 victory over Henryetta at the Sulphur High School Gymnasium.

Sulphur will now move on in the winners bracket of the regional tournament where the Bulldogs will face off against either Spiro or Okmulgee Thursday night at 8 p.m. at Henryetta High School.

The Bulldogs held a 12-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter, before taking a 30-20 lead into the halftime break.

Henryetta managed to outscore the Bulldogs 19-14 in the third to cut the deficit to 44-39 going to the fourth, before both teams exploded offensively as they combined for 59 points in the fourth quarter.

Weston Arms led the scoring for Sulphur with 24 points followed by Price Daube with 13 points and Cole Hammond with 12 points.
