After qualifying a pair of wrestlers last year for the state wrestling tournament, the Madill Wildcats have increased their odds of bringing home some hardware this season.

After qualifying a pair of wrestlers last year for the state wrestling tournament, the Madill Wildcats have increased their odds of bringing home some hardware this season. 

Five wrestlers will represent Madill in Oklahoma City after qualifying this past weekend at the Class 4A West Regional tournament in Newcastle.

Dylan McCullough will be making his return to the state tournament, after finishing fourth overall in the 138 pound division.

Damian Ramirez will also be heading to the big stage after he finished fifth overall at 145 pounds.

Colt Crowson took second overall at 160 pounds, with Coty Tweedy earning fifth at 195 pounds.

Madill’s lone regional champion came at the heavyweight class where Griffon Williams stood above the rest during the weekend.

The state tournament will begin Friday at the Jim Norick Arena which is located at the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
