With their playoff lives on the line Thursday, the Madill Wildcats and Lady Wildcats traveled to Byng for the regional consolation quarterfinals.

Unfortunately, only the Lady Wildcats were able to extend their season as the Wildcats were defeated against the host Pirates. 

In the Lady Wildcats contest, they were able to claim a 49-24 victory over Daniel Webster, to advance them into the regional consolation semifinals.

Madill led 12-3 after the first quarter, before extending their advantage to 24-12 going into the halftime break.

The Lady Wildcats broke open the game with a 13-5 run in the third, before finishing the game off in the fourth with a 12-7 run.

Jayden Weiberg led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points followed by Kisten Chapa with nine points. 

Madill will play the loser of the Elgin/Bethel contest at 6:30 p.m. this evening at Bethel High School. 

As for the Wildcats, they weren’t able to extend their season as they were eliminated with a 60-33 against Byng.

Madill struggled to just three points in the opening quarter, before going into halftime down 24-12.

Byng outscored the Wildcats 16-8, before the Pirates finished the game off with a 19-13 run in the fourth.

Asa Robertson led the Wildcats with nine points, followed by Diego Flores and Seth Coleman each with six points.
