Guy Nicholas “Nick” Beasley I, 86, of Madill, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019, at his home in Madill. He was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Madill, to the late Guy Keel Beasley and Hazel Welch Beasley. Nick grew up in Madill, where he graduated high school in 1950. He later graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1958 where he received his bachelor of science in petroleum engineering. Nick married Patsy Linelle Smith on Jan. 12, 1957, and she preceded him in death on June 1, 2005. In 1962, he moved to Altus, and worked at the Altus Air Force Base serving as the Deputy Base Civil Engineer. Nick moved back to Madill and worked as an area engineer for the Army Corp of Engineers. In 1987, at the age of 55, he started his own land surveying business “Beasley Engineering and Surveying” and retired after 10 years. He later married Oteka Leflore Minter on Nov. 18, 2006, in Madill. Nick was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Madill, the NRA, and the Masonic Lodge.  He loved his family, rooting for OU, and he enjoyed watching football, woodworking, and traveling. 
He is survived by wife: Oteka Leflore Minter Beasley, Madill, children: Guy Nicholas Beasley II of Madill, Robbin Lian Beasley of Norman, Nancy Beasley Pate of Burneyville, step-children: Joe Minter of Madill, Ann Chapman of Kingston, Michael Minter of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren: Madison Beasley, Channing Beasley, Pattann Beasley, Guy Nicholas Beasley, III, all of Durant,  Keely Pryor and husband Brandon, Moore, Jennifer Higgs and husband, Jeret of Ardmore, Bryant Pate of Oklahoma City, Avery Sullivan of Houston, Texas, Bobby J. Rice, III and wife, Michelle of San Diego, Nicholas Andrew Rice of Arlington, Texas. Step-grandchildren: Georgia Minter of Wichita, Kan., Sara Minter of Albuquerque, N.M.,  Andrea Griffin of Wichita, Kan., Christi Holder of Kingston, Katy Smith of Edmond, Richard Minter of Lubbock, Texas, Elizabeth Minter of San Antonio, Alexandria Beaver of Royce City, Texas, and many great-grandchildren. Brothers: Carl Edwin “Ed” Beasley and significant other Mary Ann Fore of Galveston, Texas, niece: Andrea Beasley Cordell of  Tulsa, nephew: Eddie Beasley of Madill.
 Nick was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, son in-law Herb Pate and niece, Karla McCown.   
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill. Don Williams will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
