Ardmore native, Steven Ray Heron, 65, passed away at his Tahlequah residence, Saturday, March 2, 2019. Steve was born March 30, 1953, in Ardmore, to the late Hubert and Mildred Faye (Henson) Heron.
Steve grew up in Ardmore, graduating from Ardmore High School with the class of 1971, and then attended East Central University. He worked a combined total of 40-years of service with Total Pipeline of Healdton and Valero Refinery of Ardmore.
Steve and Annette Bush were married Jan. 22, 1988, at Ardmore and had celebrated their 31st anniversary this year. Steve enjoyed woodworking, making furniture for his grandchildren and also in his leisure time, fishing. Steve was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife Annette Heron of the home; his son Tom Heron and wife Karissa, of Bethany, three stepdaughters: Valerie Harmon of Tahlequah, Mamie Ball and husband Ashley of Edmond, Stacie Baker and husband Jay of Tahlequah. His sister Lynda Moss and her husband Tom of Ardmore and nine grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Ada Heron.
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Randal Richards, pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the assistance of Bruce Brookman, Monty Jones, Gregg Moss, Brandon Moss, Johnny Jackson, Darrell Holt, Randy Day and Mike Whitehurst serving as pallbearers. Bob Walker is an honorary bearer.
