After earning their first district win of the season just over four days ago, the Ardmore Tigers went looking for more Monday afternoon in doubleheader against the Ada Cougars.

Unfortunately, the road trip didn’t pay off as the Tigers were swept, dropping them to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in district play.

Things will not get any easier for the Tigers as they continue district play on Monday at home against Blanchard beginning at 4:30 p.m.

In game one of the series, Ardmore fell behind early allowing five runs in the first two innings.

The Tigers tried to rally with a run in the bottom of the fourth courtesy of Dain Littlechild slapping an RBI single to right field, which scored Jake Garcia but the Cougars wouldn’t allow anymore offense.

Game Noland took the loss on the mound for Ardmore throwing 1 2/3 innings. He allowed five runs (0 earned) on two hits with three walks and one strikeout.

Game two was closer on the scoreboard, but the result once again went to the Cougars by a score of 9-6.

The teams were even at 1-1 after one inning, before the Cougars got three runs in the second following by one run in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

Ardmore got one run in the fifth and sixth innings, before nearly storming back with three runs in the top of the seventh.

Michael Bruner and Gabe Noland each scored two runs in the game for the Tigers, while Raven Henderson and Creed Cox each scored once.

Dawson Stedman took the loss on the mound for the Tigers, throwing three innings of work. He allowed three earned runs on four hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
