Postseason honors often come to players who stand out during the course of a season.

Earlier this week, several area players were rewarded for doing more than just standing out during the year, they were named All-Stars.

The Oklahoma Coaches Association All-Star by Class awards were given out for girls basketball, with multiple schools represented.

On the Large West side, Plainview’s Anna Simmons and Ardmore’s Sierra Gordon were named All-Stars in Classes 4A and 5A respectively. 

Gordon finished her season averaging 17.3 points per game to go with 3.3 assists, 2.6 steals and 2.4 rebounds per game. 

Meanwhile Simmons averaged 14 points per game, along with 4.5 rebounds, three steals, three assists and shot 85 percent from the free throw line this season. 

The Plainview Lady Indians finished the season in the area tournament at Midwest City, and also won the regional consolation championship to go with their district championship. 

There was also plenty of reason to celebrate in the Class 3A ranks, as Sulphur and Lone Grove both earned an All-Star award.

Payton Row will represent the Lady Bulldogs, while Madison Anderson was given the award for the Lady Horns. 

Anderson finished the season finished with 11.1 points per game, to go with 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.7 assists per game. 

Meanwhile, Row finishe averaging 16 points per game with six rebounds this season along with shooting 65 percent from the free throw line for the season.
