Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
The son of W.S. “Goob” and Betty Jean Moore Hartman, Wes was born Feb. 14, 1960, in Ardmore. He passed away Wednesday, April 10, at his residence.
A resident of Carter County most of his life, Wes graduated from Ardmore High School in 1978 where he was a star pitcher of the high school baseball team. Wes continued his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting. At the time of his death, he was employed as a retail manager for Progressive Energy. Wes had a love for animals, was an avid OU Sooner fan and was also a skilled golfer. Wes took care of his mother for years and also enjoyed spending time with other family and friends. He attended the W.O.W. Church in Ardmore. Wes will be remembered as being a good person with a huge heart.
Wes Hartman loved to eat with his friends at Casa Roma and talk about the days of playing baseball, watching Sooner football games and playing golf. But he also loved to talk about life and a relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ. Wes was not a religious man, but he practiced his faith by putting others first. He was always there to pick his friends and others up from the daily grind of life. He was full of compliments and respected everyone. He was a man of integrity, was honest and could be trusted always. One friend said “I could go away for several years and Wes would keep all my possessions safe and secure until I returned.” He discovered the key to life was serving others. Wes will be deeply missed by his friends and co-workers. He is at rest!
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wes is survived by his special cousins Sharon Hall of Burneyville and Vanesa Sullivan of Fox; numerous other cousins, family and friends.
Serving as casket bearers are Mike Chandler, Sharon Hall, Craig Murray, Robert Fite, Mike Maneberg, and Joe Biddick. Honorary bearers are Lane Miller, Jackie Price, Keith Horner, Kent Horner, and Mark Morris.
