Ardmore police are currently looking for a suspect in what they believe was an attempted kidnapping that occurred early Sunday morning on the running trails at Ardmore’s Regional Park near Ardmore High School.
According to reports, officers responded to the area at 10:25 a.m Sunday after a report from a 20-year-old female subject claiming to have been grabbed while running. According to reports, the victim stated that a young black male subject wearing a grey shirt and blue shorts grabbed her from behind with force, pinned her arms at her sides and pulled her back. She said she started to scream and jerked away and was able to break his grip before fleeing. APD Capt. Keith Ingle said video from surrounding schools and businesses showed the suspect entering a light metallic blue Dodge Challenger before leaving the scene, though the video did not capture a license plate. The video also showed a short slightly-built black male subject getting out of the vehicle prior to the attack before walking across a two lane road and running northbound to catch up with the victim. The video shows the driver assaulting the victim before being fought off and fleeing.
Police are asking anyone with information about a suspect matching this description and vehicle to contact Ardmore Police Dispatch at 580-223-1212.
