Bobby Lee Butcher Jr. was born Jan. 1, 1962, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Bobby Lee Butcher Sr. and Zumma T. Taylor Butcher. He passed away from this life on May, 2, 2019, in Tulsa.

Bobby was an avid fisherman who loved to spend his time on the river, aka, his home. He loved to catch catfish, hunt arrowheads, make zip lines for his grandkids, tell jokes, help his neighbors and friends with any need they have, and repair small engines. Bobby loved to teach anyone who would listen everything they needed to know about catching fish. He would also give you the shirt off his back if he felt you needed it more than he did. He is loved by many and definitely will be missed.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Butcher Sr., and Zumma T. Taylor Butcher; his uncle, Jackie Raymond Butcher; and his nephews, Jamie Webb and Bubba Porter.

He is survived by his very best buddy, Zeus of the home; sister, Brenda Anderson and husband Darrel, of Lebanon; sister, Beth Webb and husband Joe, of Skiatook; brother, Wayne Porter and wife Jody, of Skiatook; brother, Roger Porter and wife Diana, of Cushing, and brother, Timothy Butcher of Hennessy. His daughter, Lea Ann Slawson and her partner Marcus Smith, of Lone Grove; daughter, Kristy Miller and husband Daniel, of Wilson; son, Kevin Butcher and fiancée Renee Bethea, of Sand Springs; daughter, Kalie Johnson of Wilson; daughter, Jessica Ghobity and husband David, of Dickson; three granddaughters, Jacklyn, Jayci and Jayden Slawson; and nine grandsons, Jacob and Braydan Miller, Ayden Jolly, Mason Choma, Zandyr Johnson, Jaspyr Gunter, Jason Michael, Justin and Joseph Bethea. Bobby is also expecting his first great-grandchild in December. Several nieces and nephews and close family and very special friends.

Per Bobby’s request there will be no funeral, instead a small family goodbye will suit him just fine. If you knew Bobby and want to wish him goodbye, grab your favorite 30 pack and spend your day fishing at the river.
